Module 1: Introduction to Animal Care Issues

Objectives: An introduction to the primary issues concerning the care and use of animals in a research or teaching environment.

This module must be completed by all individuals planning to work with live vertebrates in a captive or field setting at the University of Alaska Anchorage. This includes faculty, researchers, instructors, staff and students. There is a single 25 question quiz covering material from this module. Prior to working with live vertebrates you must demonstrate your knowledge of this area by obtaining 25/25 on the quiz. Since the questions are intended to encourage learning you are welcome to print off the quiz and use it as a study guide.

Upon completion of the Quiz, turn it in to The IACUC Chair, Jennifer Burns, for grading.
